Certified Virtual Wound and Ostomy Nurse
Remote Position
Under the direction of the Corstrata’s VP Clinical Operations & Partnership Success, the staff Telewound and Ostomy Nurse serves as a clinical resource and consultant for the virtual assessment of patients with selected disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary systems (e.g., draining wounds, ostomies, fistulae, dermal ulcers, tubes, etc). The Wound and Ostomy Nurse will be prepared to provide the full scope of Wound and Ostomy nursing practice, including patient and clinical education, and patient counseling.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

BS or BSN (required)

Board certification in wound and ostomy nursing (WOCNCB or ABWM required)

Minimum of 3–5 years of recent clinical practice as a certified nurse specialist in wound and ostomy care.
LICENSURE AND BOARD CERTIFICATION
-
Maintains a current, unencumbered license in his or her state of residence.

Applies for and maintains a current, unencumbered RN license in additional states of service as requested by Corstrata. Reimbursement will be provided for any fees associated with the procurement of additional licenses.

Maintains good standing with the licensing boards of all states in which he/she is required to provide telehealth services.

Maintains current and ongoing certification by the Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB) or the American Board of Wound Management (ABWM).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires periods of sitting or standing at a computer station.

Measures to create an ergonomically friendly workspace are essential for functionality and physical well being.

Smart devices are no older than five years old.

Computer operating systems - a Mac or Windows Operating system is required.

Mac requirements - macOS 13 Ventura or later

Technology skills - Basic knowledge and skills in using technology, such as accessing the Internet and making a purchase online, are required

Privacy and confidentiality - Maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of our patients requires awareness and compliance with the privacy and confidentiality rules of data exchange.

Patient information is to remain secure on the Corstrata Platform and never downloaded or saved to a personal computer and/or device.

Telehealth Environment & Privacy Expectations - All virtual consultations must be conducted in a professional, private setting that ensures HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality. This standard is critical to maintaining patient trust, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering a professional telehealth experience.

Providers are expected to:Be physically located in a room that can be closed off to others (door shut, not a shared or open space).

Ensure that no other individuals are visible on camera, and no one else can see or overhear the consultation.

Create an environment that feels and appears to the patient as a private, professional office interaction.

Eliminate background noise, distractions, and interruptions during visits.

Use only secure, organization-approved devices and platforms for telehealth sessions.
